“Well all you have to do to follow the Underground Railroad is to look up to the sky and follow the drinking gourd.  I’m a historian.  Just over there was one of the biggest plantations around here.  Now there were farms and there were plantations.  Farms were about 15-20 acres.  They only needed one farmer to take care of them.  If you had anything bigger than that- you had slaves… and it was called a plantation.”  Stopped on the bus route with kids in back on the way back from school.
